August 29, 2010 Megan's Blog Recipe for Rescue

More Than Coffee is a non-profit organization/ministry that helps provide a better life for many people in Haiti while showing the love of Jesus Christ to all who cross MTC’s path. The main goal of MTC is for Jesus Christ to be glorified through the everyday purchasing and consumption of coffee. Did you know that
80% of people drink coffee? When you are drinking coffee, is it just fulfilling you temporarily, or is it able to help offer a better life eternally for someone in dire need?

My name is Megan Wade :), and I will be writing blogs to keep you up-to-date with what More Than Coffee is doing in order to help those in need and to most importantly share the Truth and Grace of Jesus Christ.  Coffee offers hope to many Haitians, as many of those who live in Haiti are farmers, however, even though coffee offers hope, Jesus Christ offers the most Hope because He is Hope! (Psalm 9:18-But the needy will not be ignored forever; the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed).Through the selling, buying, and consumption of coffee, Haitians will be able to have a better life physically and spiritually. They will be able to provide for themselves and their families, which will help the community to unify. Haitians will be able to have a thriving life spiritually because we will be able to explain to them about the Love Story of Jesus Christ. (John 13:34-35"Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are My disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.") Even though Haiti is an impoverished country, we can show them and share with them the rich loving-kindness they will experience by truly knowing and developing a relationship with Jesus Christ.

So, what is your coffee doing? Is it acting as the Hands and Feet of Jesus to offer something that will never perish, tarnish, or fade away? 1 Peter 1:3-5 says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a Living Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." I want Haitians to know and experience the Love of Jesus Christ that I experience in my own heart and life each day! Will you help me reach out to those in need for the glory of Jesus? If your coffee is not providing hope, then I am asking you to simply please consider buying coffee from More Than Coffee to show someone who feels like all hope is gone, that Hope is here, Hope is alive, and Hope will do miracles.

Romans 5:1-5 “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

With a peaceful and thankful heart,

Megan :)

September 7, 2010 Megan's Blog Knowing and Sharing

We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open His door to us.

 ~Romans 5:1-2

I’m sure it would be silly to ask anyone who is reading this if they have ever been hopeful, but I am sure you have, right? You might have been hopeful that you would get an awesome job, attain a really great new ride, acquire some sweet duds, or go on a super fun date with that incredible person. These are all things we have hoped for, right? I know I have hoped for things of this sort, but I quickly came to the realization that these things can be temporary and/or earthly. So, where am I planting my Hope and what/who is my Hope rooted in? Is it in me? A relationship with someone? My family? My pastor? My job? Where is my Hope?

Well, my Hope must totally be secured and founded in Jesus Christ alone. So as I am hoping for anything, it must be that I am hoping in Him through and through because He is, after all, Hope. If I were to be in need of anything—food, water, shelter, clothes—where would I look?--- Here, in the United States, most of us don’t have this problem where we have to seriously think from day-to-day, “What am I going to eat?” If we are thinking, “What am I going to eat?” This question pertains to this type of thought “Is it going to be McDonalds for dinner or a Steakhouse? Or will I just run to the grocery store?” This is the case for most of us.  I am not, however, putting those people down who do live here in the States and struggle with finding food. What I am trying to do, although, is make a point—and the point is this : People in Haiti might not know where their food is coming from day to day. Most of them don’t have the privilege to just run in their kitchen and throw something in the crock pot for dinner—no way! I have not been to the country (Which I hope to one day:) ) , but I would venture to say that most do not have kitchens, or what our idea of a kitchen would be, anyway. We want Haitians to know where their help comes from! Where does my help come from? Psalm 121: 1-2 says, “ I look up to the mountains—     does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!”  Please help the Haitians understand that their Help and Hope is from the ultimate Helper, Jesus.

Here’s another thought: Are you reading this right now? Do you have the ability to read? Well, if you are reading this, understanding the semantics and comprehending the formation of the letters, words, and structure, then you certainly are able to read—what a gift! I do not say this in a condescending way by any means—please do not interpret me this way—I want to be most realistic and humble as I express my innermost thoughts to you. Precious children in Haiti—and adults do NOT have the ability to read! They have not been taught! Hello—this is sad. Reading is essential! We know this!

So, why am I telling you all of this? What is Jesus doing through More Than Coffee about these heart-wrenching situations? Well, He is using people like Tony Jones to be a Light because as Christians, we are called to be the Light of the World ! Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Amen!!

Tony is shining the Light of Jesus by reaching out as a missionary with great faith, going into Haiti to help those who are in need—in need of food and literacy, and most importantly in need of Jesus Christ. If children—and adults—cannot read, then they cannot read anything about Jesus—they cannot read His truths or His many promises made in love toward us and for us by His sweet grace. If children and adults are hungry—for both physical food and spiritual food from the Father, then they need to be fed in both ways! Tony is serving those in Haiti with the Love of Jesus for the Kingdom of Christ. What an amazing thing and sweet blessing that truly touches my heart and makes my spirit rejoice and sing a happy song to the Lord!!

Tony Jones is a missionary from Canada whose mission is to show others the Love of Jesus Christ through his project, “Seeds of Hope.” “Seeds of Hope” is the name of Tony’s mission, and what he does is provide schooling for Haitians as well as food. He has 5 “Seeds of Hope” schools in Grand Goave, Haiti. Tony teaches Haitians how to read and write so they might experience and know more about the Creator of our universe who loves us with such a strong love that it consumes us. Do you want others to know about the Love you have for Christ? Do you want your Light to shine? It can’t be hidden!! If Jesus is residing in Your heart—His Light can’t be hidden—It is revealed either dimly or vibrantly. I want my Light to hurt your eyes to the point where you are almost blinded! That is how bright Jesus should be shining in my life. Pray for this for me, facebook friends, as I will for you too!

The coffee purchased from More Than Coffee is used to help children and adults learn to read, for Haitians to have a good meal, and for essentially the Word of Christ to be spread throughout the community (and these are just some of the reasons)—for the people in this impoverished country to realize that they can be rooted in Hope and that Jesus will be there to comfort and provide through all situations. The coffee that you purchase from More Than Coffee is directly from Haitian farmers, so you are helping the farmers and their families too, which is HUGE! (I will write more about this topic later on) .

What is the coffee doing when you purchase it? The coffee is an outlet, a bridge, and a link as a means of communication and transportation to tell of the glory, majesty, and sovereignty of Jesus Christ to all of those in Haiti! Will you be involved in a cause to benefit someone with the most significant, precious gift you can give them? That gift is knowing Jesus Christ and the Hope that we have in Him.

I was listening to a sermon by Louie Giglio about being a “Door Opener.” What does that mean? Check this out! Romans 5:1-2 says: “And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open His door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.”

God has given us His Son, Jesus, to share Him and His sweet message and promises that He has so graciously bestowed upon me, upon us. He has thrown open a door to us to be a vessel, even here in the United States of America to help those in Haiti know Him by buying one bag of coffee. God has given us His Son to share—I don’t want to be stingy—He is my Hope and Portion forever. Tony Jones has the right idea—He is acting as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by showing love with His great faith in the Lord! Even if we aren’t able to actually go over to the country of Haiti, we can most definitely help by buying a bag of coffee.

God bless you guys :) Thankful for you reading, your prayers, and your love,<3

September 20, 2010 Megan's Blog Fresh Breath, New Start, Open Heart

“Fresh Breath, New Start, Open Heart”

Did you know that Jesus doesn’t only save us from sin, but He delivers us from it too? What does this even mean to me, to you, to unbelievers, to believers? Jesus does definitely save us with His pure , perfect, and beautiful Grace from sin, from an eternal and painful death, BUT He also delivers us.

~Psalm 18:12-- The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. And Psalm 18:19--He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. (Are you serious?!! Guys, He delights in US! The creator of the moon, stars, sun, planets, and EVERYTHING!! He DELIGHTS in YOU! ). Jesus Christ not only loves us enough to save us from a horrible eternal death, but He also loves us enough to rescue us from our repetitive and reckless sinful nature. He embeds His Holy Spirit in our very beings and guides us into paths of righteousness—(Psalm 23:3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake).

Not seeing the difference between the two?

Salvation= Being able to spend forever with Jesus in Heaven rejoicing in fellowship with Him and unexplainable, awestruck worship. Deliverance= Rescue. Jesus, my Superhero rescues me from my ways of wickedness and ugliness. Oh my, and is my heart and life ugly without Him!! I praise Him for doing heavy duty cleaning on my mind, heart, and life! I praise Him and thank Him for not only cleaning my mind, heart, and life, but for transforming my mind each day—Romans 12:1-2. I have to constantly remember that I am not living for me, yet, I have to die to myself daily so that He who is greater will live in me, reign in me, and will do great things in me. This is not because of any great thing I have done! No! But the only thing that is good in me is from Jesus Christ. You do not, not have to get “cleaned up” to come to Him. You just come as you are, it is quite true! Isaiah 1:18 says "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD."Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

So, if Jesus has impressed all of this knowledge upon me, what am I doing to spread His kindness and love? I am writing to you, trying to paint a vivid picture within your mind so you can see how bright, how clean, how pure, how precious, how marvelous, how mysterious, how miraculous, how it’s so crazy you can’t even wrap your mind around it love that Christ has for you. He has LOVE for you. He IS Love. Love is knit within every aspect and attribute of the Lord Jesus Christ. Please do not doubt this matter—Do not let your spirit grieve against you. Release every worry, fret, care, doubt—everything—throw it down at His feet. I am writing because I want you to know that you are loved no matter what—no matter what you have done, will do, no matter what your past holds—Christ knew already what my life would hold—what your life would hold—that is why He is the perfect sacrifice and we can walk with Him in freedom and don’t have to be barred down by the worldly chains of distress and demise.

~~Did you know that we can spread this Amazing News?~~

How?

When?

Where?

We can spread this news through buying a bag of coffee. Yeah, you read it right. “More than Coffee” is more than a humanitarian organization because a bag of coffee can lead someone to Christ. It is a means of transportation to see the Gospel taken into a country so impoverished that most can’t even read or write. We want to speak words of gentleness and kindness to Haitians so they know the great Love that God has for them. A bag of coffee can do this. MTC comes directly from the farmers, sold at a greater rate to consumers, and ALL of the money is going to further the Kingdom—not just a nickel. The coffee costs $10 dollars for 12 ounces, but if that sounds a little pricy, please just think—no price can be placed on having victory in Jesus, on receiving His sweet spirit into your life, and on reaching out to those in need while being at your comfy, cozy home here in the U.S. You can do this right now! You don’t have to wait until tomorrow before this or that gets done. If God is working on your heart, I have learned it is best to listen to His still voice and be obedient. He loves when we follow hard after Him!

If you don’t believe in God, if you think this is mumbo-jumbo, if this is a myth, a fairy-tale, just a long-time ago story or folktale, then I would like to tell you that He is still moving, working, and  doing miracles even today, even right now as I am typing this. I write this because of how real and vivid Jesus is in my own life He has bestowed upon me graciously. I am not writing to put you down, I would love to build you up with the love that Jesus has shown me and put into my heart and life. Even if you don’t agree with all of this “Jesus stuff” you can still help someone out in need. Sharing the Gospel may just seem like something added on the side to you—and that’s cool if that’s how you want to think, BUT I am writing with the motive that the sole reason we need to have others purchase coffee from MTC is to provide Hope. And that Hope is in Jesus. Not in human strength. Not in your family. Not even in your pastor, but in Jesus alone.

~He has rescued me from darkness and despair. I rest on Him without a care. He took my blame and my shame. He deserves every ounce of fame. So with each ounce of coffee you drink, please be drinking the kind that makes you think—about others less than self, about those in need instead of wealth.~ For my wealth and riches are only, only found within Christ alone.~

With Big Love from Jesus that Outstretches the Lenghts and Depths of this Universe,

Megan

October 27, 2010 Megan's Blog You are Good :)

Sometimes, it’s good to go back to your roots…

When I think of Jesus, I can’t help but to think of so many things. Thoughts flow my mind at a rushing pace begging for some orderly form of assembly in this cluttered mind. I know it is a crucial root and foundation of my faith of what comes to my mind when I think about Him, so I would just like to share with you what I think about when I think about my precious, loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:

I think He is the Only One and True God.—John 14:6—“ Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

I think that His Love is abundant and stretches to the innermost and outermost parts of the entire universe.—1 John 4:9-12” This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[b] into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[c] our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

I think that His grace is ever so sufficient and that I am so undeserving.—Ephesians 4:7 “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” And  2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

I think that He is the best Comforter, Companion, and Champion that I have, and ever will have encountered.—John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." **AMEN! :)**

I think that He is Mysterious and Precious.—Romans 16:25-27 “Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, 26but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him— 27to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.”

I think that He is Holy and that all His ways are Holy.—Revelation 4:11 “11"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."

I think He delights in His children and yearns for them to seek His Precious and Holy Face.—Jeremiah 29:12-23 “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”

I think He desires for me to choose Him, yet He gives me the choice to choose Him.—Ephesians 1:4-6 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5he[c] predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

I think He wants me to have a good attitude, to be molded in His likeness and demonstrate an outpouring of His kindness.—Philippians 2:5-8” Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:  6Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,  7but made himself nothing, taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness.  8And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!”

I think He knows me better than I know me.-- Psalm 139 I think He guides me, even in unchartered territory.—Isaiah 58:11 “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

I think His Name is above every other name ever. Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,  10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

I think that He forgives me time after time after time after time after time.—Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.”

I think He loves it when I come running home to Him in need of help and assurance.—Psalm 105:4 “Look to the LORD and his strength;        seek his face always.”

I think He provides every need I have—no matter how big or small. —Philippians 4:19 “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

November 9, 2010 Megan's Blog

Seeking out the plain and simple--the ordinary. He just wants us to be receptive and responsive. Isiah 66

Have you ever…

Wanted to change the world?

Have you ever thought…that it’s a crazy thought or a lofty task?

Did you ever consider…how mighty and perfect His love and plans are for our lives?

Do we…ever stop and thank Him for the things we would consider “simple?”

My prayer is that we would know and experience the richness of Christ’s Love that He so graciously poured out for us when He gave His life for us. He laid down His life for us so that we may come to know Him more and more, with each passing day. He conquered the grave and is the Great, True, and Mighty Victor over death. When He acts, who can reverse it? Whose thought could ever be so deep and intricate about us? Who has thoughts more delicate and pure than Jesus? No one. Who could care for us more than Jesus Christ? No, not one person, not one thing, not one being…Oh how great is the Father’s Love for us? I just want to spread it around like wildfire!   If His love is a contagious disease, then I want to be forever ill for Him. My heart is desperate and thirsty, crying out for His True Word.

My  Sweet Friends,

May my foundation and our foundation for our lives be ever based on Him and His perfect ministry . May we yearn to seek His face. May we not be scared or apprehensive to come to Him in all seasons of our lives. He loves to hear from us, as He is always waiting for us to run home to Him—it’s never, ever, ever too late.Oh how He forgives. Oh how He provides. Oh, how He so richly and truly loves!! How He rules our hearts and holds our hands in all circumstances. He is ever so consistent in all things.

Reflecting upon being reverent and fearing Jesus Christ:

Isaiah 66:1-2 (amplified Bible) –Thus says the Lord: Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house would you build for Me? And what kind can be My resting-place? 2For all these things My hand has made, and so all these things have come into being [by and for Me], says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands.

Jesus just wants us to be willing and obedient to His purpose for our lives. Amen that He doesn’t have a checklist, marking off what we do right and wrong.Amen that He accepts us and meets us where we are.

Amen for His arms, open wide, which freely accept us, and wrap us up in a huge hug that declares:

“ I am here! I have been here this whole time. I have never left you. Let me help guide you. Do you see my hand? Hold it. Do you see my face? Look upon it and into it for the innermost treasures and precious thoughts which I have about you. Do you hear My voice, child? Listen closely, as My Holy Spirit, Who I have instilled in you, whispers to you directions and guidance that will shape you into My likeness. I know that it’s going to hurt as I prune away fruit that does not prosper. I don’t want you to fear or fret  though, don’t do that. Have you forgotten I have overcome the world? I love You. Trust and hope in the Love which was poured out for You. I will not let you down. Ever.”

Amen that He accepts ALL my many, many, many, many, --upon many—faults. I am so forgiven and set free. I want all of you to experience this freedom. The freedom of walking around and dancing in the Spirit of Jesus. Oh see that He is good!!

It is the desire of my heart, for those who do not know Jesus, to come to know Him and experience Him in such a personal way that shakes up life and sets things spinning out of control. In Haiti, not everyone has heard about Jesus—can you believe it? Not even hearing about Jesus!  Like not know Who He is?!?! I mean, I thought everyone knew something about Jesus, right? Well, not everyone does. Do you want to be a part of taking the Gospel to those in Haiti by sitting at your home right now in front of the computer? You can do it. Crazy huh? --Jesus works in some pretty awesome and mysteriousways. He is always up to something awesome, even if we don’t see it.—So, this is where More Than Coffee ministries comes in. You can order a bag of coffee from the more than coffee website, and ALL profits go to help spreading the Truth of Jesus Christ to those who need it most. You don’t even have to move off your butt to see this ministry take action, because it’s already taking action, it’s already on a misson—even just by you being at home and purchasing coffee (something that you may drink everyday!) Pleaseconsider these things in order to advance the Gospel of Christ. Please be in prayer about it. Ask the Lord if He would have you to help out in some way. You can be a missionary, right at your home, sitting right in front of your computer or t.v., or your call of duty video games, or whatever you do! Just consider and think upon what the Lord is doing. He is doing some amazing things. :)

I love you all with a BiG, BIG Jesus Love!

Peace and Blessings, being Happy in Jesus alone,

MeganSet free, dancing and singing His praisesla la la I love you, Lord!

I think He is my True Love and I need no other.—Lamentations 3:22-25 “Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."25 The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him"
